AMERICA

Presently I am in USA visiting my son.  This is my first visit.  Impressed with the country.  Lot of good things to see and adopt.  Travelled to Washington, Pittsburg, Nayagara falls, New York.  Covered about 1500 miles in car.  Amazing road infrastructure.  Invested hugely in laying roads and their maintenance is more amazing.  There is not a single road which is bad and require immediate attention.  No pot holes. Went through villages in-between.  These roads are equivalent to High ways, of course, with limited lanes. Cross roads are through bridges throughout.  There is always a entry and exit road at each bridge point.  All the exits lead to a rest  area, which is mostly having a very decent restaurant with good building. The road signs are fantastic.  Throughout, the board pattern and  their way of exhibition is the same.  At all intersections, there are signals including roads of villages. I might have crossed more than 100 signals in the journey and not even a single signal failed.

 The entire travel was through lush green fields with lot of trees.  Throughout the journey, the land covers with vegetation to the entire length. 

Lane discipline is amazing.  Every driver knows his responsibility and they follow the rules with discipline.  Never jumps the signals.  There is continuous traffic of cars and massive trucks.  Even at midnight when we travelled, either we followed a car or a car followed us.

Wherever anything is to be bought, they just stand in queue even if there is one or two persons before them. When strangers meet, they say hello.  Never hesitate to say Thanks and sorry.  Good manners to learn.

Niagara falls:  Amazing.  To see once a life time.  You can see the river flowing in the plain and falls.  Then you go down on a lift and see the falls.  Boats take u near the falls which is thunderous and breathtaking.  They say, one part of the fall is natural and the other part called the Shoe (because of the shape of the fall) is manmade.  That makes it more marvelous.

New York:  Has all the ups and downs of a big city. Still the city is neat and clean and lot places to see.  Statue of Freedom worth seeing.  Madam Tussad wax museum is worth and you can take photos with all models kept there.  I took photos with President Obama, Martina Navaratiloa, Jennifer Lopus!

Hope this is enough.  As in any country, here also places which are barren and with lesser living conditions.   Fortunately (!), I had no occasion to go to any of these places.
